The profession of pilot should remain desirable for young people who want to be highly qualified, specially trained and work in a special environment: in the airline cockpit, or in the cockpit of a civil helicopter or business aircraft. Austrian Cockpit Association

ACA is the independent Austrian advocacy group for commercial pilots.
The primary goal is to promote aviation safety.

NOT ONLY PASSIVE…
At ACA you can simply be a member or actively help to shape your professional environment. You are most welcome to participate in working groups, share your ideas and experiences with colleagues and stand up for your interests.

A monthly member magazine with current topics and reports from the association’s work
Pilot Support
includes:
- support with mental health problems that are related to flying
- protection of the member’s identity
- furthermore for female cockpit staff, psychological counselling with a selected psychologist

Lobbying
in Austria, the EU and internationally with our umbrella organizations includes:
- legal opinions and statements
- contact person for ministries and authorities
- seat in the traffic safety advisory board of the BMVIT and in the ‘ATC-OPS Meeting’ of the ACG

Ausbildung

Die drei Wege ins Cockpit

Integrated

Ohne Vorkenntnisse, vom Fußgänger zum Verkehrspiloten; „INTEGRATED – AB INITIO“ stellt die am häufigsten gewählte Ausbildungsvariante dar. Neben der Flugausbildung in mehreren Phasen wie Sichtflug und Instrumentenflug wird auch eine durchgehende Theorieausbildung absolviert.

Stufenweise "modular"

In der modularen Ausbildungsvariante wird nach jedem Ausbildungsschritt eine Theorie- und Praxis-Prüfung abgelegt (zuerst PPL, dann IFR, dann CPL, dann Multiengine, usw.) Nach der PPL Ausbildung und Prüfung im Rahmen der modularen Ausbildung sind bei manchen Flugschulen die Schüler selbst für das Flugstunden sammeln verantwortlich.

Multi Pilot License

Die MPL – Multi Crew Pilot License Ausbildung ist eine sehr spezielle Ausbildungsvariante. Voraussetzung für diese Ausbildung ist eine bereits vor Ausbildungsbeginn bestandene Selektion beim zukünftigen Arbeitgeber. Das MPL Ausbildungsziel ist als First Officer – (landläufig Copilot) bei einem bestimmten Unternehmen eingesetzt zu werden.
